Mottled Javas - Cockrels only until 2010
Mottled Javas came to the United States from the Far East and are named after the Island of Java. They were a very popular dual-purpose breed during the 19th Century. Currently they are kept primarily for exhibition and for their uniqueness. Mottled Java chicks are some of the most beautiful of all chicks with a distinct mottled color pattern. They have black backs with most of the remainder of their soft fluffy down being light cream.
